Wood Kiln

Just a bunch of fun pictures of the beautiful wood kiln my ceramics department built last semester.  We named him Flux Capacitor and he totally rocks.

Raku and Aluminum

This is a belated photo diary of some activities of last semester.  The ceramics department and sculpture department coordinated a raku firing and an aluminum pour on the same day.  We woke up super early to set up the kiln and start the firing early.  While the kiln is red hot we removed the lid and used tongs to transfer the ceramic pieces into pile of combustable materials where they caught on fired and reduced, creating really cool surfaces.  It's a very dynamic and exciting process.

Then we got to watch the sculpture students pour molten aluminum into their molds.  Super cool.

my last two polaroids.  school starts in six days.  senior year of undergrad.  phew.

we never ever take it too far

while my mom was here in cleveland for a visit we went denim shopping.  we looked.  and looked.  and looked.  all i wanted was a simple pair of boyfriend jeans because i am truly sick of tight, long jeans and i just wanted something comfortable and that wasn't made for a super tall amazonian woman.

i had been eyeing these pairs at anthropologie 

but i finally settled on this pair from eddie bauer 

still, this pair from madewell are still my favs.  i'm just waiting for them to go on sale, plus they didn't carry my size in the store.  

my final conclusion is that i hate jean shopping, it's almost as bad a shopping for swim suits.
